MICROSOFT OFFICE 2010 ON DELL INSPIRON

i recently bought a dell inspiron and the box said it has microsoft office 2010 included but its not on the computer

  • Contact Dell support.  This is a users helping users forum and we can't help you with missing software.  Do it ASAP as you only have a limited time to request any missing software.

    The version that Dell ship free with the Inspiron, is the 2010 Starter. The problem is, there is not a CD/DVD for the Starter Edition, as Microsoft never meant it to be permanent. If it said full version or, Home and Student version, then their may be a chance you will get a disc, but don't hold your breath.

  • There are no disks sent with Office 2010 on new computers now even if you purchased Office. Everything is included in the Factory Image, which makes it important to use Backup and Restore to make a System Image as well as backups on a separate hard drive for reinstalling everything. The Starter version that came on my new computer is listed in the All Programs list. It has Word and Excel limited starter versions--nothing else except Ads for the full Office.
