  • Hi,

It sounds like it doesn’t have the driver for the controller. Do you know which controller the system has? Is it 2008 R2? Are you installing straight from the OS media? Try booting to the lifecycle controller with F10 and doing OS deployment from there.

    Thanks,

  • Also keep in mind, if you are using a PERC H710, that it does NOT support non-RAID, so you MUST configure RAID before attempting to install (directly from the OS media), or even with the right drivers, no disks will be seen.

  • Well now I able to see as I follows by f10 but once I am installing it shows only one drive that's one tera  the other dirve I not seen

which is I configure using f10 bot as raid 1 to install windows 2008 r2 64 bit
  • If you configured two 1TB drives as a RAID 1, then you will only have (and the OS will only see) 1TB of usable storage.  With hardware RAID, the OS should only see the RAID array/virtual disk created on the controller, NOT each individual disk.

  • Then how to make it seen two suprate physical disk 1 tera and 1 tera in my case

    Thanks

Second ... you don't want a RAID 1/mirror?  Which RAID/disk controller do you have?

  • Well now I able to see as I followed  by f10 but once I am installing it shows only one drive that's one tera  the other1 tera drive is not shown in my windows 2008 r2 64 installation- well I configured as raid 1 selecting two drives but it shows mirror drive, but I notice may be the reason, but please suggest how to get two drives in my os back as normal, I don't need any mirror..

    thanks

  • What RAID controller do you have? The instructions are different for each controller.

Which RAID/disk controller do you have?

  • Well my dear Friend thanks for assistance I have PERC H310 IN SLOT 6

  • Boot to CTRL-R and delete the Virtual Disk ... when left UNCONFIGURED (not part of a VD), disks will be presented to the OS as individual disks, with NO RAID.

  • Dear sir I got New PowerEdge T320 Server with two 1-Tera non raid Hard Drive racks with one dvd

I want to install Windows 2008 r2 Stand or enter Prize Server on it

when I Directly install from dvd it not Shows the Hard disk but

when with dell support F10 Life cycle control I followed the steps

Os Deployment /my raid controller is PercH310 Slot6

Now suggest steps as I need to have two individual hard disk must be shown in my installation or

even after my windows finished I need to see two physical hard drive in my system

    thanks

  • if I choose raid 0 down to select I will see two drives shell I select one drive or two drives,

I need to see in system after installation two individual drives Please

    Eraliest reply

    thanks

  • Creating two separate RAID 0’s will work. You can also delete the virtual disks that are on there and use non-raid disks which will then passthrough to the OS.
