I had an error with my PCIe controller on my Dell Poweredge 840. I'm operating Windows Server 2003. I unplugged the PCIe controller and the system ran just fine. I read that if the system runs then it is the motherboard. So I replaced the motherboard and now I don't get anything. Not sure if there is a specific way to hook everything back up. am I missing something here?
"Am I missing something here?"
Potentially a LOT of things.
Chances are your "controller" was bad. What "controller" was it? The RAID controller?
I figured it out I just had a loose connection. But I still have a PCIe error. Where can I buy a new PCIe controller?
Dell UCS-51, GU186, UN939 SAS 5i SAS5/iR PCI-e Raid Poweredge
You can get them lots of places:
