Dell V515w paper jamming

This question is not answered

I have a Dell v515w printer about a year and a half old. When I try to print something the paper jams. It does not crumble up. It stops right before coming into the inside of the printer. Right were those 4 black rollers are. I have taken out the power box for 5 mins I have turned it upside down I have looked inside with a flash light and see nothing. I can not force a piece of thinker paper threw it. I have my little ones first birthday invitations to print out so I need this fixed.

  • Hi Godgrace777,

Try the below mentioned steps to fix the paper jam problem:

    1. Turn off the printer. Unplug the power cord, adapter from the printer, press and hold the power button on the printer for 20 seconds. This will remove the static power from the printer.
    2. Clean any dust particles surrounding the paper sensor/ paper path.
    3. Load a smaller amount of paper when printing multiple pages (use only new, unwrinkled paper).
    4. Adjust the paper guides to hold the paper firmly.
    5. Now try to print the document and check.

To prevent jams, ensure the following:

    • Place the printer on a flat, level surface.
    • Use paper recommended for inkjet printers.
    • Do not force the paper into the printer.
    • Do not load too much paper.
    • Check and adjust the paper guides as necessary to make sure they rest against the edges of the paper.
    • Select the correct paper type and size.

Firmware update for the printer should take care of the problem.

  • Tried all of the above. Nothing worked. I did the firewall last. As soon as it restarted the printer it said paper jam. There is no paper in the printer. I have cleaned and turned it upside down and looked and there is nothing in there.

  • Hi Godgrace777,

I can understand electronic devices can create confusion when they do not work the way they are designed for. I appreciate your time in trying to fix the printer by yourself.

As the issue still occurs even after trying the above steps, the printer needs to be replaced.

If the printer is under warranty, I would be glad to arrange a service on the printer. Check warranty status: http://dell.to/13VPd97

Please private message me the service tag, registered owners name and address.

To private message me please click my user name and click start conversation.

In case of expired warranty scenario, we would not be able to extend warranty entitled services.

    Awaiting your response!
