I have a V715 printer, this is the second time that I have gotten the "Printhead Error" message. the first time new ink cartridges seemed to clear it up. I found on line where many other people say you cannot buy a new print head. So wondering what to do - it seems locked up and won't doing anything. I downloaded new firmware and some other update only one would install and the printer with new ink cartridges just reads the error message.
Here are few things that we can try to fix this technical issue.
Please check the ink levels in the color and black ink cartridge, remove and reinsert both the color and black ink cartridge and then deep clean the Printhead.
Follow the steps to deep clean the print head:
The printer will perform deep cleaning of both ink cartridge and the print head and it will print a test page, check the test page. If the printhead error continues then please update the firmware for the printer.
To update the Firmware software for the printer follow the below steps:
Note: Firmware can be updated by connecting the printer and computer with a USB cable.

Please do a deep clean of printhead again and check the color quality.
If the issue still persists the printhead needs to be replaced.

I have done each of these things, and the deep cleaning worked the first time, and when it was done it has the printhead error message; it is frozen on that I am unable to do anything with it now, I have tried powering it down and turning it back on but it goes right to that error message. So my next question then is - if the printhead needs to be replaced and dell does not sell them how do buy a new one? I found one on amazon for $75 and it wasn't new - don't think I need two with the same problem!

I am also unable to access the maintenance menu. So I wonder if it needs a new print head and dell does not sell them - how do you find a new one? The problem is with the printhead and it needs to be replaced.
