Windows 7 and v313w wireless can't connect

This question is answered

We have a WinXp desktop that connects to the wifi wireless printer v313w with no problems.

The printer has a static ip setup.

We also have a Windows 7 DELL laptop.  This laptop will not 'see' the printer.  I go through the wireless printer setup software, I come to the point to find the printer and it doesn't.  I put in the exact IP address of the printer, and it doesn't see it.

This laptop is on the local network, and can get to the internet.

This one has me stumped.  Any suggestions as to why the Windows 7 DELL laptop will not connect to the wireless printer??

Thank you!!

-Paul

  • Paul,

Diod you install the printer on the Windows 7 machins(32-bit or 64-bit) unins the Vista 32-bit or 64-bit) drivers and instal it in the Compatibility mode?

Firewall and virus programs are next to look at as they block printer communications.

Ypu are using the wireless adapter in the printer, correct?

What is a Dell Service Tag and how do I locate it?

  • It's working now.  It was probably the firewall/virus software that you mentioned to me.

    Thank you!
