  • My dad's laptop is a dell latitude d820 windows xp and i can't figure out why it won't connect but i think it's the same reason why mine didn't connect and i can't tell if the wireless is a 1394 net adapter or if it is intel(r) pro/wireless 3945abg. i was just wondering if they had a reinstall for this wireless connection

  • Hi washburntroy,

You may uninstall and reinstall the wireless drivers on Latitude D820 as well. Please share the device ID for network controller. You may follow the steps below:

    • In ‘Device Manager’, right click ‘Network Controller’.
    • Click ‘Properties’.
    • Click ‘Details’.
    • Search for ‘Device Instance ID’.
    • Provide the numbers after VEN and DEV.

Please paste a screenshot of device manager with ‘Network Adapters’ expended, if possible.

Keep me posted with the information. I will be glad to assist further.
