Our laptop is 18 months old. Set up a wirelees network with a Linksys WRT54G. We have the standard Dell Wireless 1390 WLAN card. 2 days ago, the laptop stopped seeing the network. I worked first on the router, running diagnostics, reconfiguring, updating firmware, etc., but it appears to be running normally. Using the wireless card utility on the laptop, I can see that it is detecting neighboring networks (but not ours), however, the Wi-Fi catcher doesn't see any networks at all. I tried connecting manually, but that doesn't work either. I'm at a loss.
Some advice I got said I should disable the Dell WLAN Wireless Monitor, but I can't find such a thing. Help is appreciated.
Did you get Windows Updates two days ago? Are you updating drivers with Windows Updates? If so, then this could be the cause of your trouble. You can try system restore to the first restore point a day before the wireless quit working.
You can also try start, control panel, add/remove programs(Programs and features) find the Instel Proset program, it you have one, then click repair.
Restart your computer.

I did a restore back to before the problem started. This did not solve the problem.
When re-configuring the router, I changed the channel to 10. I changed it back to 11 and now the Dell Wireless WLAN Card Utiliity Site Monitor picks up the network. However, when I flip the Wi-Fi Catcher, it is not listed. When I open "Connect to a Network", it is also not listed. I've tried to manually connect, but that still doesn't work.
Any more Ideas?
Go to device manager. Under network, click on your wireless adapter. See if there is an option to rollback the driver. If you can rollback the driver and see if it works. If not then try updating the driver and see if that works.
Device manager says I have the latest driver. I just updated it a couple of days ago, after the problem started. I can't roll back (only uninstall).
Still looking for an answer.
Anyone with any more ideas? I'd like to know if this is a hardware issue, a router issue or a software issue. I'm still at a loss.
Problem is solved. It turned out to be interference from a neighboring network. This happened once before and I switched channels to solve it. I didn't think they would change their channel to match ours, but that's what happened. I just switched channels again.
