I appreciate it if anyone can help me to determine if my Dell inspiron 1525 built in webcam is really broken, or just the cable is loosing. The following I experienced:
If I flip down the LCD unit the cam is on, if I flip up it is off. I want to open the lcd and retighten the cable to the webcam, but it is the symptom of broken webcam I will not try to fix it.
To enable you to diagnose my problem, probably I need to tell you what I have done so far. I have open the LCD and saw the cable attached to the camera, it is not loosing, it is very tighten. So nothing wrong with the cable in the upper part.
Could it be the cable from the CPU/near keyboard?, I have not opened it yet, because I have to study how to open it.
Please help inf anyone of you have experienced the same problem Now a bit better if I flip up the LSD about 90 degree from the keyboard the camera is on, but if i flip up forward upto more than 90 degree the cam is off. Could it be the cable in the hinge?.
Thanks for any help.
Thank you for performing the above steps. The above response indicates the connection on the motherboard might have failed/ become lose, hence you may try reseating it if you are comfortable. If not you may contact any local technician.

but problem is still there.....
please let me know what to do??
I will be glad to help you. Appreciate your technical expertise in trying to reseat the webcam. This seems to be a hardware issue so the webcam or the webcam cable needs to be replaced. Request you to use the below link and check warranty status:
