I just recently purchased a Latitude E7440 for on of my users and it does not seem to dock properly. If the laptop is on with the lid closed, and the user places it on the docking station, the monitor will not display anything and the peripherals attached to the dock do not work. The monitor will act as if it is getting a signal and the power light on the monitor will change from amber to blue but nothing is displayed. The user must open the lid and then everything starts working. After that the lid can be closed and everything is fine. This isn't a huge issue but it is quite annoying to the user who is accustomed to just docking his laptop and everything working.
King1351 - Have you found a solution to your issue? I have two users experiencing the same problem with this model laptop.
For our situation, it was the monitor. The user had an Acer monitor with their old laptop and it worked fine. But not so much with the new laptop. I gave the user a new Dell monitor and that solved the problem.
Thanks for the quick reply. My users both have rather new ASUS monitors and we have others with them working just fine. Our issue just started within the last week and they have been having their E7440 for about a month now.
I also purchased 6 Latitude E7440 and for my users it does not seem to dock properly. If the laptop is on with the lid closed (sleep mode), user places it on the docking station, and attempts to power up, the monitor will not display anything and the peripherals attached to the dock do not work also. The monitor also will act as if it is getting a signal and the power light on the monitor will change to blue. I am using Dell 2210 monitors. Is there a driver or something for this issue?
