Dell Inspiron 14z - 5243 won't turn on

This question is answered

Hello

I have a Dell Inspiron laptop that won't turn on. It was working fine last night and I shut down Windows to turn it off. This morning I went to turn on the computer and it would not turn on after pressing the ON button numerous times. There is no battery indicator light flashing on the laptop and I''ve tried using a colleagues Dell power adapter instead and still it wont turn on.

I don't think I can remove the battery because it is all plugged in to try the 30 sec ON button test.

Is there anything else I can try?

Thanks

Victor

  • Hi victaa,

I am sorry about the situation; please reset the laptop and check if the system works, follow the steps below.

You just need to use a paper clip or safety pin to reset the system by inserting the pointed end into the reset hole (next to the base door) underneath the notebook. Resetting the system will release the static power from the system.

In case the issue persists try removing one memory module and swap the memory modules on both slot (One memory at a time) and check if the system works. Use the Service manual for instructions on how to reseat the memory.

Let me know about the progress.
