My new XPS One came with this piece of junk wireless card that can't connect to my 5GHz band (My 4 year old Vostro is faster). Dell support refuses to provide upgrade recommendations that are not sold by Dell. Does anyone have wireless card upgrade suggestions?
Thank you in advance.
Apologies for the inconvenience caused. Dell 1703 wireless card is a single band card and hence cannot connect to a 5GHz connection. This is a Half Minicard. You may install any of the following Half Minicard to upgrade it:
Note: You will need to download and install the drivers compatible to Windows installed on the system to make them work.
To download the Service Manual, please click on the link http://dell.to/18NmI2D and enter the Service Tag of the system. Click on Manual & Documentation to download it. Please follow the safety guidelines before replacing any hardware component.
Hope this helps. Please reply if you have any questions.
Thank you for the list. Which of the above provides the best performance, best speed in your opinion? I don't want to have to research each card.
I would recommend using any one of the following two wireless cards:
These cards are dual band and shall work on 5GHz connection. Hope this helps. Please reply if you have any questions.
