XPS L502X "NO POWER"- NO POWER supplied to PC with battery and power adapter connected- Power adapter & battery light shut-off when connected

This question is answered

From a previous thread, I believe my issue was answered but to be certain I'm re-posting my problem so thanks for your support!

Hello,

I've never had an issue until..... One morning, I attempted to turn "ON" my, 1-year old XPS L502X laptop-thought battery died after pushing battery level button and no lights turned on displaying batt. level!?  Then I plugged power adapter/supply to charge/run my laptop and noticed the adapter light turned OFF and still, NO POWER?!  Can anyone verify what's causing my issue (Faulty System/Motherboard) or something else?

Thanks for your advice!

Respectfully,

Tony B

  • Sandeep, yes the power supply light DOES shut off upon connection to PC, and the same with battery... Battery not attached, when I push the indicator button on the battery to see charge level, battery shows full charge.  When connected to PC, indicator/charge level lights do not come on..

  • Hi Tony B,

Please let us know if the AC adapter power led turns off when you connect it to the system. If it happens only when you connect it to the system then it is probably an issue with the power port or system motherboard.

And, if the AC adapter LED never comes on then you should try replacing an AC adapter and check the system.

If you have any further queries feel free to reply to us.

    Thanks and Regards
