just bought a used latitude d510 and the battery would not charge. bought a new battery, still would not charge, bought a new ac charger and still will not charge. I plug it in it will show charging for about 30 seconds then will stop charging. I click the battery icon and shows batt #1 at 14% and dropping and batt # 2 not present. but it says plugged in and charging. any ideas?
I would suggest you to check the status of AC Adaptor and Battery in system BIOS, to boot the system in BIOS follow the below mentioned steps:
1) Reboot the computer.
2) When prompted during POST, press the <F2> key to enter the setup screen.
3) Use up down arrow key and highlight “battery info” and “battery charged” status.
4) Also, I would suggest you to load BIOS to default. On the System Setup screen, press the <F9> key. Press the <Enter> key on Yes to Load Optimized Defaults and restart the computer.
Restart your system and check how it works. In case issue still persists please update the latest version of system BIOS from the link mentioned below. Please select correct operating system before you start installation.
Please reply if you have any further questions.
