Its very frustrating. I've re-checked the power options and nothing is wrong there. Now I have to re-start the laptop everytime I reopen the lid. Can anyone help me?
Kindly install the latest video driver and perform a BIOS update from the Dell site. Also provide the system model and operating system installed.
(Key in the system service tag and appropriate operating system to download the driver)

Ok, I did all that and even did the Dell Diagnostics....which turned out fine. But the problem still happens. I even went in a checked "do nothing" when lid closes and that works if you close and re-open within a minute or two, but overnight - I had to restart the laptop.
I appreciate your help!
Sorry about the delay. What is the Power button LED status when you reopen the Lid?
Do you experience the same issue when the AC adapter is not connected?
We've had a major family medical emergency - I'll have to get back to you next week. Thank you

Ok - back trying to fix this laptop. The Power button light is on....but the screen won't come back up when I tap the touchpad. Doesn't matter if the AC is connected or not - same thing.
Boot to BIOS (F12) and disable Fast Boot
Press space bar.
