dell xps m 1530 colored stripes on screen while booting

i have a Dell XPS M1530 laptop its 3 years old it used to show white screen on start up which soon converts into grey and sometimes colored stripes

and than it eventually stops on a white screen with a thick black vertical stripe in the center and finally changes to black sometimes i car hear

the start up tone of windows and even i can presumably browse the files and open them too again i can hear the sound but could not be able to see


Please help on of technician cost me 7500Rs as to replace the motherboard but the problem still exist.

    I am sorry for the issue not being resolved even after the repairs.

    I request you to run a test on the display. This test will help in diagnosing if the issue is with the LCD panel or with the controller. If the colors are displayed across the screen without a problem then the issue lies outside of the LCD.

     To test the display shut the system down, next press and hold the letter ‘D’ on the keyboard and press the power button. This will initiate diagnostics on the display. Check the status of the display and please revert.

    You may also connect an external monitor and check.

    But i have already undergone through the lcd test, it shows the the lcd has no issues

    please help me if i need to repalce the motherboard

    i have Dell XPS M1530 with 128 MB Nvidia graphics card please tell me how much it will cost if

    i purchase a new one from Dell

    and about dell service centers in delhi and noida (if any)

    and if it is a graphics card issue that what could be done as graphics card is inbuilt

    with the motherboard.

  • The mainboard has to be replaced.  The unfortunate part is that the replacement will have the same faulty model of chip on it -- so, you're likely better off putting the $300 or more you'd spend on a board replacement toward a new system.
