Has anyone encountered a problem with the inspiron  duo audio dock not recognising the computer ( or vice versa) . was working OK but suddenly stopped

    Welcome to the community.

    Please let us know if the dock is getting power or not. If not then kindly connect the power adapter for dock onto a different power socket.

    Also, check and let us know if there is any light on the power adapter.

  • Hi Sandeep - thank you for your reply.  The dock  power adapter is plugged into a working power socket, and the green light on the adapter is lit.  

    when the computer is inserted into the dock,  nothing happens eg the software for the clock etc does not appear. If I launch this program manually, a message on screen instructs me to connect to the dock, but this is already done, and clicking OK has no effect.  I think the computer is not recognising the dock.

    I am not sure about the power adapter for the dock as while it shows a green light, there is no power light lit on the front of the dock so it is possible that the dock is not receiving power.

    We have tried re-installing the software app for the dock ( connexant file form Dell) but still the computer does not activate the dock

    Any thoughts?

    As dock is not getting power it might requires to be replaced. If it is still under warranty then please contact me through a private message by clicking on my name highlighted in blue. On the next page, click the envelope icon and provide your service tag and contact information so I may access your system records.
