i tried to jump the BIOS as suggested but no luck. everybody tells me to call Dell support and give them the service tag/express service code and they will provide me with a master system password. it's out of warranty and want to charge. if there is someone who can please help me get the system password, i would really appreciate it very much. need to get my homework.

The alternative is to replace the system board, which will cost far more than the call.
Please help me with your system ID, which will be seen on the BIOS screen. If you do not get the system ID, try entering an incorrect password multiple times and you will see the System ID.

ok, when i press the power button, the dell logo shows up and the options to press F1 or F12 which takes about 3 seconds then states: Enter System Password. enter three times then shuts down.
i didn't see a System ID.
is there another way to obtain the System ID?

Please share the exact error message that you encounter when you try to boot to Windows. Also, do you get the 'Enter the password' prompt before the Dell Logo screen or after it?

The exact error is when you turn it on the laptop the dell logo screen after that you will input a password!
