   I Want To Format My New Inspiron 15r-5520  and want to Install Fresh Os  can i do that??

i jus  bought New laptop but it came with PREINSTALLED windows 7  with  recover partition.   i dont want this.  i want to FOrmat it and want to install windows 7 by my self  and want to make at least 3 partition

can u tell me can i do this??     will i face any problem please help me

is it safe??

  • thnx a lot   natakuc4  i read ur wiki guide about new installation

    and i have some doubts  like

    if i  delete or format   RECOVER partiton which contain Recovery factory  than what will be cosequences??   i mean can i  install new  WINDOWS   or DELL  BIOS setting will stop me to do it coz i formated Recovery Partition???

    another doubt is  

    as my LAPTOP have preinstalled GENUINE windows and my  LAPTOP came with OEM    will OEM will stop me to INSTALL  NEW  OS??????

    clear these 2 doubts plzzzzzzzzz

  • If you change any of the partitions or format you will loose the ability to quick restore to the factory settings.

    To give you something to fall back on, you can make the Dell DataSafe DVDs or USB. Using these will give you exactly the factory settings should something go wrong. See the video here: How to Create a Recovery USB for your Dell / Alienware Computer.

     

    Next with regards to genuine Windows the most recommended way is to use a Dell Windows 7 Reinstallation DVD. However you will need to contact Dell Technical Support to request one. Here are the customer numbers. This is the best way as the DVD will automatically activate within the Dell BIOS.

    You can also use the retail media to create a bootable USB or DVD for reinstalling Windows 7. With this media you use the product key on the COA supplied with your laptop but unfortunately you have to activate via automated phone activation, so your Windows should be genuine.
