I been trying to restore my laptop to factory settings, I already did f8 but do not have the option for factory restore, only the one with dvd, but it seems that the dvd is not reading since does not start. What can I do? I think I maybe have some hard drive problems too but don't know about computers and I am away overseas and do not know what to do, please i need some help, is impossible to work, firefox crashes almost every minute, I can't install anything else because it says that recovery D is full. Thanks
Welcome to the Community. You should not be installing anything on D drive as that is your recover partition. Below is the link to restore your computer.
If the PC restore option is not available then you will need to reinstall windows using the DVD.
To check if the hard drive is gone bad, you can run diagnostics by pressing F12 at the Dell logo on startup, select diagnostics, and run an extended diagnostics.
Hope this helps.
First make sure you have copies of files and folders that you cannot afford to lose.

Try running the Full diagnostics. How to Run the Dell™ Diagnostics Utility
Since you got the message...

It's possible your Recovery Partition is corrupt.
Restart your computer and press F2 at the Dell Screen. Look for boot sequence. Change the boot sequence to...
HDD Hard Drive
USB removable devices
Save changes and exit.
Insert the operating system disk and restart your computer.
Press any key to boot from CD/DVD
What is a Dell Service Tag and how do I locate it?
