Bluetooth not working for Inspiron 15 3521

Bluetooth not working on my new Inspiron 15 3521. System config - Windows 7 64bit.

I have updated driver from Dell support but still having same proble. It goes in searching mode and nothing further. Unable to detect the laptop from bluetooth device (phone). Can anyone help?

  • Do DELL team, please your Bluetooth device in this model of laptops is not working, you have to admit it ! all your answers and suggestions will not solve the problem...try this...press this...click there...believe me it's a waist of time. If it's because of software, maybe you can work on something and release it to the public as an update or something, but if it's hardware, Just tell to the users there's no solution for this!

    I regret for the inconvenience. Please let me know the troubleshooting steps you have performed. Also share the operating system installed and paste the screenshot of ‘Device Manger’ with ‘Network Adapters’ expended.

  • Hi redlz,

    You may completely uninstall the wireless and Bluetooth drivers from the ‘Device Manager’ and reinstall it. To uninstall right click the wireless and Bluetooth drivers and click uninstall. You may reinstall the driver from this link: http://dell.to/12pb8oN.

    You may update system BIOS. Please refer to the link: http://dell.to/15iZ78D.

  • Rigth click on the Bluetooth icon in taskbar and choose "open settings"

    Tick "Allow Bluetooth Devices to find this Computer"

  • Sense that above is truth. Dell, kindly provide some update for inspiron 3521 series laptops......many users are struggling to run bluetooth. Or remove bluetooth from specifications itself. Dell other models are not having such issues.

  • A fix for the yellow exclamation mark next to Bluetooth Peripheral Device is

    1- go to device manager.

    2- right click on "Bluetooth Peripheral Device"

    3- select "Update Driver Software...".

    4- choose "Browse my computer for driver software".

    5- choose "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer".

    6- select "Ports (COM & LPT)".

    7- select "Microsoft" at "Manufacturer" list.

    8- finally select "Standard Serial over Bluetooth link"

    you may be asked to continue which you should do so.

  • Oops....! It worked once...now again problem. Initializing COM port list itself taking time.

  • If it doesn't sort itself out post back with another screenshot of your Device Manager (showing any Yellow exclamation marks). We may need to uninstall the offending COM port and reinstall

  • There is no yellow mark, still unable to detect device.

  • Wow there's a lot of COM ports installed there!!! You only need one!

    Uninstall all of "Standard Serial over Bluetooth link entries" ONLY.

    Restart your PC.

    Go back into Device Manager and follow previous steps to install Bluetooth Peripheral Device.

    Make sure you tick that top box each time you need to connect to a Bluetooth Device....once you are paired with that device the box can be left unticked. Only needs ticking when connecting to unpaired / new devices.

    Dell Wireless 375 Bluetooth Module Application (Widcomm Bluetooth Software)

    I was able to install. I have to restart computer. Go to Dell download manager. Hopes this works.

    Please share the system model and the operating system installed. Also paste a screenshot of ‘Device Manager’ with ‘Network Adapters’ expanded Please paste a screenshot of ‘Device Manager’ with ‘Network Adapters’ expended. You may follow the steps below:

    • Press ‘Windows’ key + R on ‘Desktop’ screen.
    • Type ‘devmgmt.msc’ in run box and press ‘Enter’.
    • Click > sign next to ‘Network adapters’.
