drive won't open

I have a strange problem.  My CD/DVD drive won't open until I use a staple and push the internal button.  After I do this, the external button works to open the drive will work until I shut the computer down or restart it.  Then, I have to push the internal button with the staple to get it to work again - every time I shut it down or restart.

Anybody know how to fix this?

    Welcome to the community.

    It might be an issue with the DVD drive itself. However, please follow the steps below to update the firmware for the DVD drive:

    Click the Start button, and then click Run.

    Type msinfo32, and then press the [Enter].

    In the System Information window, click Components, and then click CDROM.

    In the Right Pane, Locate the "Name" Of the Dive.

    Download the available Firmware Updates from the Link Below:
