Inspiron 660 Fast Track 0514

I purchased the DELL:  Inspiron 660 Fast Track 0514 1/22/2013.

 

The system crashed 6 times, with technical support, I can restored the system in 02/2013 and 07/2013, however, it crashed last night. With diagnostic analysis, there is no issue, however, it just keeps crashing every couple weeks. I only installed basic development software, no special items.

 

I have been spent too much time for restoring data, installing software for this machine, it is so sad and unacceptable for the quality. I am checking DELL to have it replaced or refund. Hopefully, DELL will answer me ASAP.

  • "Crash" - does that mean freeze, screen goes blank, completely shuts off unexpectedly, or...?

    Are you running some specific app when it crashes, eg playing a game, watching a video, surfing the net,,,?

    You might want to power off, unplug and press/hold power button for ~15 sec. Then open the case and carefully reseat the RAM modules, PCI card(s) and cable connectors in their sockets.

    What version of Windows? Have you scanned thoroughly for malware?

  • Crash means that PC cannot be booted, after trying couple times, it still doesn't work. This is new PC, if I have to make so many adjustments :), which means the quality is not good at all.

    I use it only as development machine, no game installed. Majority software are java development stuff.

  • What color is the power button when it won't boot?

    If you're using a power strip or surge protector, disconnect those and connect PC direclty to the mains.

    Did you try reseating things in their slots. Sometimes things get loose during shipping. And if this system is under warranty, you should contact Tech Support for repairs, possibly new power supply and/or motherboard...
