This question has suggested answer(s)

The touch screen will not work when you try to use touch capabilities and also does not even show up as having ability of ever being a touch screen. Any help would be much appreciated thank you.

  • Hi megakingboo,

What is the system model of the computer you are using this monitor with? What type of cable (such as DVI, HDMI, USB, etc.) you are using? What is the Operating System installed? Since how long this problem is happening?

    Thanks & Regards

  • Dell Inspiron 660s for computer type cable being HDMI windows 8 is installed and this happened shortly after it was setup out of the box, although the touchscreen capabilities worked for a little bit they almost instantly stopped working.  Another thing you might want to know as well is that I did not get the monitor right away so I was using a different monitor that was not a touch screen at first.

  • Hi megakingboo,

Sorry for the delayed response. As the touchscreen worked for a little while, there is a possibility it might have got disable in the settings. Follow the steps below to enable:

    1. Press and hold the “Windows Key” and then press the “Q” key on the keyboard.

    2. Type “Control Panel” in the search box.

    3. Open “Control Panel”.

    4. Open “Hardware and Sound”.

    5. Go to “Pen and Touch”.

    6. Move to the “Touch” tab.

    7. Ensure “User your finger as an input device” is checked. See the image below:

    Do reply with results.

  • The pen and touch part in the control panel does not show up at all, also to be noted when you go to PC info it shows the monitor as not being able to have touch or pen capabilities.

  • megakingboo,

Dell-Zohaib R mentioned it but we must state that for Touch to function, you must connect the monitor USB upstream cable from the monitor to a USB port on the computer.

  • All my cables are connected. It was working the yesterday and not today.

  • Everything was checked but nothing is working

  • This "feature" is annoying.  I wouldn't have spent extra to get the touch function had I known, since I use this computer with the Dell SuperSpeed USB 3.0 docking station and an HDMI cable from the monitor to the docking station.  Is there any way I can connect it via the docking station and get the touch feature?

  • Same problem with me. Checked all cables. Tried replacing cables. Still no result. I have Win7 on my Dell Inspiron 5720 installed. I have connected the above mentioned monitor to the laptop using HDMI cable. Windows does not even recognize it as a touch screen. Haven't seen the touch work even once now and its been 3 days I bought this monitor. The tablet Pc settings option does not even appear in the control panel. I have touch capabilities enabled in services.

What to do to fix this problem

  • Make Aspire Model ATC-605-UB11 64 bit hdmi has stopped working i cannot reset program.

What to do to fix this problem?

  • Is there a fix for this?

I have been using this monitor for about a year now. I purchased it new. Ever since I installed the monitor, I have had this problem.

I can unplug the USB cable from the monitor and plug it back in and the computer will then recognize it. The touch will work after I do this. Several minutes later, the touch will quit working again and I have to do the process over again.

I have a custom-built computer. It is an ASUS Z97-Pro AC motherboard, with an Intel i7-4770K CPU. Moving the USB cable to a different USB 2.0 does not help. Using the USB 3.0 doesn't help. I have tried all USB ports and they all have the same problem.

I have Windows 8.1 Pro 64-Bit . I am using a VGA cable for the video and the Dell-supplied USB cable. I have even used a different USB cable, but that didn't help.

The monitor shows up in device manager as Dell S2240T(Analog) .

Thanks for any help or ideas!
