  • Hi,

In order to assist you in a better way, please provide me the following information:

    • Which operating system are you using on computer?
    • Does it happen while running any specific application?
    • Do you get any error message on screen?
    • Try using your computer in 'Safe mode' and see if the same issue persists there.

You can follow the steps below to access safe mode:

    • Restart the computer.
    • Tap the F8 key on the keyboard during the boot process until you see the Windows Advanced Options Menu on the screen.
    • Select “Safe Mode with Networking” from the menu using the arrow keys on the keyboard and then press the <Enter> key.
    • Select the user account at the log in screen.

For processor and video card upgrade, you can check the images below to find the processors and video cards sent as default configuration as per the customers choice:

Your computer is shipped with the power supply of 300W and has a PCIe slot for the graphics card. GeForce GTX 660 Ti requires a power supply of 450W. You might need to upgrade the power supply. You can check for the options like GeForce GT 630, GeForce GT 620, GeForce GT 610 which need the power supply of 300 w and can be installed on PCIe slot of system.

Dell has not tested i7 processor with your computer. You can also check the link to know more about processor upgrades on Dell computer from the link: http://dell.to/TXOJja

  • DellNoob2012,

The rear of the 660 has six USB ports -
    4 blue USB3.0
    2 black USB2.0

Test the wireless keyboard/mouse transmitter in both the blue and black ones.

  • Generally speaking, can any manufacturer's ATX power supply be used or does it require special wiring pinouts for the current production Inspiron 660?

  • Hi PseudoGeek,

Yes, any manufacturer's ATX power supply can be used on the computer, however the length of the power cables may vary. Also, you might need different power connector for the hard drive and optical drive.

For any clarifications feel free to contact me.
