xps 8700 interior tower light

This question is answered

I can see a small interior light shining through the tower vent holes on the left side. Is this normal when the tower is shut off? The light is on even after I log out and shut down. It is not in a sleep mode (at least I don't put it in that mode)

  • The light on the motherboard is normal and indicates "flea power" coming from the power supply.

Rohe is correct, that is the standby power light [aka Flea Power] and only indicates that the motherboard has some power reaching it.

To turn the light off, power the computer off, remove the power cord from the power supply and hold the power button in for about 15/20 seconds, but when the computer is booted up, the light will again be lite.
