A lot of people have been experiencing these problems. This is day #78 (and counting) of waiting for me. Hopefully the various part shortages will be resolved soon (the sales rush can't possibly last forever). Right now their service feels more like a LIFO than a queue.
I've been waiting 5 weeks. Every 10 days the orders get cancelled automatically by their system, when it is JUST about to hit that actual production part of production. On the 7th Order, because they kept making mistakes every time they remade the orders. So, technically the 4th order is started now. At 3 days so far. 3 orders of cancelled/3 orders of changed status. Insane I know. However, I have a Lady named Susan watching and helping me with this order now, from customer support, so maybe things will work out fine. I would be a fan of first in first out, in this case, but I keep getting thrown to the end of the list in production from all this. Apparantly they can promise all the expediating they wish but it changes nothing but overnight shipping...once its done... or so ive come to notice. This is not the first time Im getting an alienware, Ive had nearly every model they've made in the last 7 years, laptop wise... though only in the last 2 years have I gone directly to dell to buy them.
They say I'll get this order by the 20th.... and that the videocards were backordered short on supply...you can google tons of threads saying the hinges or the wifi or the cpu or the screen or the SSD drives are on shortage back order etc..So, I do not think people from DELL are telling the truth, how could they seriously be short on nearly every component....Theres people I know who ordered and got the same model of some of the orders I had placed, and received them, meanwhile Im still waiting, so, it makes little to no sense. If this order cancels for some reason, I'll be extremely. You know the kind of off that doesn't stop until its ruined someone's life..I've gone to many media sites and forwarded long descriptive (seriously, like 6 pages of what the experience has been..) essays on Alienware/dell.. and their service..But, Im not the only one feeling like this are taking too long. This is kind of a big for Dell... I hope they get their stuff in gear and fix things up all proper and such...Im mixed feelings towards Dell now, for this whole experience... and in the immediate scenario, I'm actually very upset, having waited 6 weeks now...

Just wondering did you guys ever ended up getting your laptop? We ordered an alienware PC and an alienware laptop on the same day, the PC arrives today, 2 weeks ahead of the estimated time and the laptop is still in production stage. The laptop had minimal changes whereas the PC had a lot of upgrades. So why is the laptop taking longer than the PC?
